A Billion Dollars Worth of Listening Power

January 31st, 2010 Categories: Communication

You wake up one morning and find out that you are actually a billionaire with incredible resources at hand – but when you look in your pocket you only see a twenty dollar bill. Now that’s not much of a problem if you don’t think you are a billionaire and you see yourself as having a twenty dollar net worth. On the other hand, if you know that you are wealthy, then only seeing a twenty dollar bill in your pocket might well be a bit confusing and frustrating!

This scenario is similar to your relationship with your own personal power. So long as you only allow yourself access to twenty dollars worth of information about yourself, you will likely remain somewhat confused and frustrated.

Why do you accept limited information about yourself and about your personal power? One reason is because there is a tendency to rely on the narrow, familiar part of yourself as reflected within your thought process as the primary, if not sole, source of information about yourself and about your personal power.

However, you also provide yourself an incredible amount of useful information about yourself through other valid avenues of communication. Those include, for example, your emotions, intelligence, intuition, feelings, impressions, senses, impulses, daydreams, imagination and so on.

To the extent you are open to all of yourself, to all of your communications in all forms, you are then positioned to recognize and interact with all of your reality, not merely that portion represented and presented to you within your thought process.

By being actively aware of the wide array of communications you offer yourself in the moment, you effortlessly provide yourself access to much more of you. At that point your recognition of the actual value of your personal power will begin to soar.

To swing open the door to your own personal empowerment, simply recognize that you already possess a billion dollars worth of listening power – and then listen!
